HaghpatHaghpat monastery (X) is a real triumph of architectural style and decoration. It stands on a high plateau, rising sharply against a background of steep forested slopes.

OdzunOdzoun basilica of VI AD is unquestionably the most vivid example of a domed basilica type. This majestic temple incorporates features of Armenian architecture of early Christian period.

SanahinSanahin monastery is one of the most outstanding works of Armenian architecture, transcending the limits of national culture. Science and medicine were studied here.

HaghartsinHaghartsin is an architectural ensemble (X-XIII) often described as a school of architecture. Numerous buildings show that once the monastery was throbbing with life.

GoshavankGoshavank monastery complex (XII-XIII), named after its founder, a great medieval statesman, scholar and writer, the author of numerous fables and of the first Legal Code, Mkhitar Gosh.

HarichavankHarichavank. Architectural monuments of the monastery built in VI-VII AD, are situated on a cape formed by shallow ravines and rivers flowing through them.

TsakhkadzorTsakhkadzor or Flower Gorge is a picturesque mountain resort with healthy climate and numerous springs. This name is associated with modern tourism, recreation and sports.

Lake SevanInteresting historical and cultural attractions enhance the natural beauty of Lake Sevan. On rocky peninsula of the lake is a glorious architectural complex of the IX AD ascends.

Hayravank Hayravank (Monastery of The Heavenly Father) is one of the most attractive historical monuments in this area. The monastery was built in the IX-X AD. With a fine view of Lake Sevan.

AmberdAmberd, a medieval (IX) defensive complex on the slopes of Mt. Aragats includes impressive ruins of castle and walls, as well as splendid small church on junction of mountain rivers.

SaghmosavankThe monastery of Saghmosavank, constructed in XIII century is perching on the edge of precipitous gorge. The ensemble is famous for its depository of manuscripts.

NoraduzNoraduz is an ancient village on the shore of Lake Sevan. The cemetery has always been the largest repository of khachkars in Armenia.

EchmiatsinEchmiatsin is the Holy See of the Head of Armenian Apostolic Church with the Cathedral founded on the year when Armenia accepted the Christianity (301 AD).

GarniGarni is famous royal summer-residence with a citadel and temple of Classical/Hellenistic period. Nearby is the royal bath-house with the mosaic on the floor and paintings on the walls.

GeghardGeghard, a famous rock-carved monastery is one of high artistry and originality. Its block-built buildings and those carved in the rock are united through the common composition and style.

SardarapatSardarapatis one of the most important landmarks of Armenia. This is a memorial complex, erected in the honor of the Armenian victory over Turkish invaders in May 1918.

GandzasarGandzasar - founded in 1216 and became an important center of the Armenian political and cultural life. During the centuries, it was residence of Catolicos of the eastern land of Armenia.

Khor VirapKhor-Virap monastery complex is the holy place for all Armenians. The monastery is located just at the slope of Ararat and an overwhelming view of the Mount opens up from here.

ShushiShushi the long-time cultural capital of the area was founded in 1752. It has a large and beautiful white stone Holy Ghazanchetsots Cathedral, built in 1868-1887, as well as the Kanach Zham.

AmarasAmaras. In the early 4th century, Gregory the Illuminator founded the first church near a small river of Amaras. Later in the 5th century it became the famous monastery.

NoravankNoravank monastery is located in Vayots Dzor province (marz) in deep winding canyon of Noravanq. The region is a National Park famous for its rare flora and fauna, as well as caves.

KarahounjKarahounj, the megalithic observatory not far from Sissian, dates back to XXII BC (while some enthusiasts insist on V millennium BC) and is planned by the same principle as Stonehenge.

KhndzoreskKhndzoreskis a cave settlement of the Bronze Age. It looks like almost vertical multi-story rocky amphitheater. Numerous artificial caves now are used as stables.

TatevTatev, one of the most celebrated and majestic of Armenian monasteries and universities, is a mighty defense complex founded in IX century on the site of an ancient tabernacle.
